Soap Dish: The Death Of General Hospital?s Jason Morgan
It is Soap Dish time again my friends and this week I am dishing all about the death of General Hospital’s Jason Morgan. It was quite a week on my favorite daytime soap and one that saw the loss of a beloved actor and character. Although for a couple of months fans have known that Steve Burton, who played the character of Jason Morgan, was leaving didn’t make watching the death of Jason any easier. In true soap fashion GH set it up so that the character of Jason could come back. The residents of Port Charles may believe that the quiet hit-man is dead but given fans didn’t actually see him die that means there is room for a return. Plus GH has added a past character into the mix that very well could fill part of the hole left by Jason, I am not spilling on that yet. I think that the powers that be at GH handled the demise of Jason very well, unlike the whole Robin death which was just crappy in my eyes but that is for another day. Natina Reed Dead After Being Hit By Car
Natina Reed, who found stardom as an R&B singer in the 90s was struck by a car and killed in Atlanta this weekend at just 32-years-old. Normally celebrity deaths come to us with scandalous background stories–drugs, DUI, and sometimes even murder. But in this case, Reed was simply hit by a car. So what happened? Well, it seems that The driver won’t be charged, and was actually the person who called 911. From the looks of this one, it sounds like she somehow got in the way, either by crossing the street without looking, or for some other reason. The investigation is still underway, but again, the driver has so far been found to NOT be a fault. That leads me to believe that she could have even been jaywalking. It’s so very sad. <P>When Ton Do-Nguyen uploaded his shot-for-shot <a href="http://newsroom.mtv.com/2012/07/18/beyonce-fan-video-countdown-snuggie">recreation of Beyoncé's "Countdown" video</a> to the Web, he didn't expect it to be seen by anyone other than his friends and family. But with more than 500,000 views on YouTube and the stamp of approval from the Queen B herself, the junior class president from Pennsylvania has quickly learned the power of the Internet.</P><P>"I'm going on her website, and I just start screaming," Ton said about reading a post in which <a href="http://www.beyonce.com/news/brilliant" target="_blank">Beyoncé praises his "Snuggie Version,"</a> calling it "brilliant."</P><P></p><div class="player-placeholder right" title="Ton Do-Nguyen Made His Beyonce Parody For 'Fun'" id="vid:816890" width="415" height="255"></div><p></P><P>"That was literally the best moment of my life — hands down," the 16-year-old told MTV News. "I was scared she would get mad. ... When she posted it on her wall and everything, it was so positive."</P><P>It's not just the superstar singing Ton's praises either: Everyone from <a href="https://twitter.com/PerezHilton/status/225726296385277952" target="_blank">Perez Hilton</a> to "Glee" star <a href="https://twitter.com/iharryshum/status/225651447864360960" target="_blank">Harry Shum Jr.</a> are bowing down to the Snuggie-clad tribute, with the same question on everybody's mind: How the heck did he do it?</P><P>"For each specific part, I would just look on YouTube and try and get it down to a T in front of my mirror and go off and film it," Ton explained. 'X Factor' Judges Discuss 'Bizarre' Performances, Infighting
Britney Spears admits the other judges 'ganged up' on her when they disagreed with her critique of a contestant.

<P>"The X Factor" judges <a href="http://www.mtv.com/music/artist/spears_britney/artist.jhtml">Britney Spears</a>, <a href="http://www.mtv.com/music/artist/lovato__demi/artist.jhtml">Demi Lovato</a>, L.A. Reid and Louis Walsh, the British "X Factor" panelist who has been sitting in for Simon Cowell while he recovers from bronchitis, are in Kansas City, Missouri, as auditions for the second season of the reality singing competition continue. The group gave <a href="http://www.toofab.com/2012/06/11/britney-spears-x-factor-bizarre-auditions-exclusive-video/" target="_blank">their first interview</a> since Spears and Lovato were announced as judges at the Fox upfronts.</P><P>The judges discussed the "bizarre" performances they've seen, how they get along, whether Spears' and Lovato's careers as performers make them more sympathetic or critical of the contestants, and the one time everyone ganged up on Britney.</P><P>"I feel like we've had a little bit of bizarre performances overall," Spears said of the Kansas City performances. "Britney likes me and Demi likes me," he said.</P><P>Asked which judge the rest of the team tends to agree with the most, Reid said that Spears has the best eye for contestants that have that special something. "We tend to agree with Britney more than others. Honestly, I'm being funny, but she has amazing taste."</P><P>"You ganged up on me one time though," Spears quickly countered, half-jokingly. "You three guys did. One time, [and] it wasn't nice!"</P><P>"One time out of 75 auditions, that's not bad," Reid replied.</P><P>As for what makes Spears happiest when judging, she said, "It's the best feeling when someone comes onstage and just makes us want to stand up and gives us energy."</P><P>Having made their names as entertainers, both Spears and Lovato admitted that their careers have helped them relate to the contestants because they've "been in their shoes." But it's a double-edged sword because it has made both judges more sympathetic to the show's contestants, particularly when they have to deliver bad news.</P><P>"It's something I've definitely had to learn. At first, I really didn't even want to do it," Lovato said of having to criticize contestants. "It's easier to say, when you're having meetings with people, 'Oh yeah, it will totally come easy,' or something. But when I got in the seat and had to give negative criticism to somebody ... it sucks. But they're asking for your advice, and by stepping on that stage, they also know that you could not like their performance. They're taking a chance, and I'm going to take a chance by telling them something that I believe."</P><P>The interview comes on the heels of news that all four judges <a href="/news/articles/1687014/britney-spears-demi-lovato-x-factor-auditions.jhtml">walked off the set</a> after a disastrous audition in which a contestant — who reportedly wasn't a particularly talented singer — sang with his back to the panel. "It was really awkward," a source told <a href="http://www.people.com/people/article/0,,20602844,00.html" target="_blank">People.com</a>. "They didn't want to waste their time."</P><P><a href="http://www.people.com/people/article/0,,20602881,00.html?xid=rss-topheadlines" target="_blank"><i>People</i></a> also reported that Spears is proving to be a tougher judge than many expected. A source told the magazine, "She's got a really good instinct, and when she loves something, she looks like she wants to dance on the desk. When she doesn't like someone, she is incredibly tough."</P><P>For her part, the pop star insists her firm stance is in the best interest of the contestants. "It's all tough love ... I promise!" Demi Lovato 'Relates' To Britney Spears On 'X Factor'
'Factor' judge also says 'it would be an honor' to collaborate on music with Spears.

<P><a href="http://www.mtv.com/music/artist/lovato__demi/artist.jhtml">Demi Lovato</a> is having a blast as one of the four judges on <a href="/news/articles/1685141/demi-lovato-x-factor.jhtml">"The X Factor."</a> Nestled alongside <a href="http://www.mtv.com/music/artist/spears_britney/artist.jhtml">Britney Spears</a>, Simon Cowell and L.A. Reid, the onetime Disney princess has found her voice as a singing-competition referee. And she describes her judging style as tough but loving.</P><P>"Well, you know, I try to be positive as much as I can," she explained to MTV News on Sunday, just before she jetted to Miami for the show's boot camp. "But sometimes you've just got to tell people that singing is not for them. When I hear a good singer, sometimes I critique them so that they can be better. And it's not that they're bad."</P><P></p><div class="player-placeholder right" title="Demi Lovato Explains Why She Comes Off As The 'Toughest' 'X Factor' Judge" id="vid:818024" width="415" height="255"></div><p></P><P>In fact, Lovato sometimes will go to bat for a singer despite what the other judges have to say. "But then when I hear someone that I absolutely love or someone that I believe in, I'll stick up for them, even if everyone else votes no," she said. "I'm really honest on the show and sometimes I come off as the toughest judge. I guess you can say I speak my mind."</P><P>So, which of those other judges does she agree with most at the end of the day? "It's unpredictable. Like sometimes I cannot see what Simon sees in the people he puts through. And same with Britney," she explained. "I'm like, 'Britney, what are you thinking?' But there are more times I relate with Britney [better] than Simon, actually. Maybe because we're the two girls on the show."</P><P>While her focus on set is to judge the show, when asked if she and Britney have talked about making any music together, she said, "It would be an honor, but no plans yet."</P><P>Lovato, who in addition to judging the show is also on her <a href="/news/articles/1688267/demi-lovato-holmdel-nj-show.jhtml">summer tour</a>, added that she has no regrets about signing on. "Everyone's amazing," she said. "It's awesome."</P><P>On Monday, all four judges appeared at the Television Critics Association summer press tour via video conference and chatted about the next season of the show, which kicks off on September 12.</P><P>"I'm not going to lie about this," Cowell said of Spears during the press conference, according to <a href="http://www.hollywoodreporter.com/live-feed/tca-x-factor-britney-spears-demi-lovato-simon-cowell-353120" target="_blank"><i>The Hollywood Reporter</a>.</i> "I always said the no. 1 person I wanted on one of these shows was Britney. <P><a href="http://www.mtv.com/music/artist/spears_britney/artist.jhtml">Britney Spears</a> may be getting pretty comfortable in her seat on "The X Factor" judges' panel, but it seems that if <a href="http://www.mtv.com/news/articles/1689794/american-idol-jennifer-lopez-steven-tyler-replacement.jhtml">Steven Tyler and Jennifer Lopez</a> had vacated their "American Idol" seats a little sooner, Spears may have considered joining the panel on her now rival show.</P><P>In an interview with <a href="http://blog.zap2it.com/frominsidethebox/2012/07/the-x-factors-britney-spears-would-have-loved-judging-american-idol.html?utm_source=twitterfeed&utm_medium=twitterhttp://blog.zap2it.com/frominsidethebox/2012/07/the-x-factors-britney-spears-would-have-loved-" target="_blank">Zap2it</a>, Spears admitted that she "would have loved" to appear on "American Idol." But fear not, "X Factor" fans, Spears is ready for her big debut on September 12.</P><P></p><div class="player-placeholder right" title="Britney Spears Explains Why She Wanted To Be A Part Of 'X Factor'" id="vid:769620" width="415" height="255"></div><p></P><P>Spears, who recently wrapped up audition rounds, feels that she and fellow <a href="http://www.mtv.com/news/articles/1685004/demi-lovato-x-factor-judge.jhtml">new judge, Demi Lovato</a>, are bringing something special to the revamped show. "I feel like it brings a whole new energy to the show, definitely," Spears said. "Nicole [Scherzinger] and Paula [Abdul] were really great, but to have such a dramatic change, I'll bet this even made Simon [Cowell] and L.A. [Reid] nervous."</P><P>It seems that <a href="http://www.mtv.com/news/articles/1687468/britney-spears-simon-cowell-x-factor-judge.jhtml">Spears has calmed Cowell's nerves</a>, but her next challenge will be to win over the viewers.</P><P>Just last week, we got our first glimpse of <a href="http://www.mtv.com/news/articles/1689403/britney-spears-x-factor-promo.jhtml">Spears in the judge's seat</a> when a 17-second promo from the show was released. Spears showed off a sassy, critical side, but she admits that she understands what the contestants are going through.</P><P>"I would be extremely nervous, probably, if I'd really never done anything before and it was my first time to perform in front of 4,000 people," she said. "I'm sure it's pretty nerve-racking."</P>

Survivor Philippines Episode 6 Recap
We begin the Survivor Philippines Episode 6 recap on Night 13 as the Kalabawa Tribe returns from their first trip to Tribal Council. Katie feels isolated and alone now that her only ally, Dawson, was voted out. So she plots to stir up trouble and will try to get the tribe to vote off veteran player Jonathan Penner next. Good luck with that! On Day 14, she begins to spin her web, warning the newly arrived Denise that Jonathan probably has a hidden immunity idol. Day 15 and things are not looking good food-wise with the Tandang Tribe. Their supply of rice is nearly exhausted thanks to veteran player Michael Skupick frequently munching on it raw. He thinks the rice will cook in his tummy. Given that the temperature is above 100 degrees most of the time, he may be right. A Reward Challenge might help as the prize is a hearty lunch of thick, meaty sandwiches, soup and brownies. The event is for three players from each tribe to battle in the mud while trying to push a giant ball into a goal.
