No "mom jeans" for Natalie Portman! The Oscar-winner says that motherhood has had a major impact on her sense of style.
"I've been trying to look more like a lady recently," Natalie, who is mom to 10-month-old son Aleph, tells Women's Wear Daily. "I used to be happy in a T-shirt and sweatpants, and now I feel like I want to make myself a little more grown-up - now that I'm a mom."

Rumors have been circulating that Matthew McConaughey and Gwyneth Paltrow had been offered the roles of Jack and Rose.
By Fallon Prinzivalli, with reporting by Josh Horowitz
The success of "Titanic" is undeniable. With a worldwide gross of $1.8 billion, the film is the second highest grossing movie in box office history — just behind director James Cameron's other massive project, "Avatar." The historical film was nominated for fourteen Academy Awards and won eleven, including Best Picture, Best Director, Best Cinematography and Best Original Song.
It also launched the careers of two of Hollywood's most well-known actors, Leonardo DiCaprio and Kate Winslet.
The 3-D re-release (which raked in an additional $17.3 million during its debut last weekend) brought rumors to the surface that other popular actors had turned down the role.
When MTV News' Josh Horowitz sat down with Cameron, Horowitz asked about the rumored "Titanic" casting circulating the Internet. Supposedly, Matthew McConaughey was in talks for Jack Dawson and Gwyneth Paltrow for Rose DeWitt Bukater. "I will neither confirm nor deny," Cameron said. "I just don't think that's cool to talk about actors that either chose not to do it, or were unavailable, or stupidly decided that there wasn't enough meat on the bone of the character, or whatever it was."
We bet those actors came calling back begging for another chance. "They should," the award-winning director said. "They should've come whimpering back afterwards and said, 'I will never second guess you again as long as I live.' But it's too late. You got one chance, that's it. And you might want to think about this next time when you get called." And even though the role of Rose follows Winslet everywhere, there's no doubt it was the experience of a lifetime. She recently told us that she's glad the film can reach a whole new audience, including her children who will see it for the first time.
But apparently, some audiences didn't know the movie is based on a true story. After seeing the film in 3-D, people have taken to Twitter to admit they didn't realize the tragic incident actually occurred. "That's shocking to me," Cameron commented on the news, "that somebody could actually tweet — because it requires some neuromotor capability — and not know that Titanic was a real event, but apparently there are [those] people."
"It's a sad comment on our society. However, it does put the onus on us to get the history right. Because it might be the only record a thousand years from now," the director laughed, "the one disc might be the only record."

Fans had very strong reactions when MTV News reported about the rumored couple.

Are Taylor Swift and One Direction's Harry Styles a couple? They're not talking — but you certainly are.
On Wednesday, we posted some compelling evidence that Swift and Styles might be linked up (Exhibit A: This video, in which 1D rib their bandmate about Taylor during an MTV News interview), and fans certainly had their opinions on the potential pair.
Many readers chalked it up to one more dude caught in the Taylor Swift rumor mill. "I think it's time to stop the Taylor Swift likes whoever nonsense," BrianC6234 wrote in the MTV News comments section. "First of all, why does it matter? But even if you care, these rumors have all been false. Isn't she dating that guy from 'Les Miserables'? I mean Zac Efron. Wait, no, it's Tim Tebow. Get the point?"
"These rumors have always been wrong," WeeRu chimed in. "Chord Overstreet, that guy from Parachute, Zac Efron and now Harry Styles? I don't think so."
RachV2389 added: "Guy after guy. Well ... she hasn't had a song about a British boy yet!"
A lot of Taylor fans out there are hopeless romantics, just like their idol, and have their fingers crossed that the One Direction heartthrob is "The One" for Swift. "Harry is a good guy," xLara_Stylesx wrote. "If you watch all his videos you will see that he has a good personality. And Taylor deserves a boyfriend like him (:"
"I love them both," mrs.worldwide said. "It would be nice if they were together." (BTW, should we get started on the joint nickname? We're thinking Haylor or Swiftles.)
But it wasn't all roses and sunshine: Some short-and-not-so-sweet reactions to the news included "SWEET BABY JESUS NO" and "no, please no!"
"Heeeck no," Stephanie Lynn Roberts posted on MTV News' Facebook page. "Harry has class. TSwift would just break up with him to get a new hit song."
Some fans pointed out the age difference between the 18-year-old boy bander and 22-year-old country superstar. "Come on, Taylor, the kid is only 18," Ariela M. Garcia wrote, which prompted Facebook user Holly McQuithey to point out Styles' 32-year-old ex. "Harry dated Caroline Flack. There is no age limit for that boy. Let him be happy."
But one reader, MinkenGjerald, really made us laugh with their reason the couple will never work: "Well... no.. Harry is a sex bomb and Taylor is so innocent."

'She would give me that pop I need,' last season's fourth-place finisher tells MTV News of rumored addition to judges' table.
By Christina Garibaldi
<P>During his final appearance on <a href="/news/articles/1676110/x-factor-marcus-canty.jhtml">"The X Factor," Marcus Canty</a> promised his fans it was "not over" for him yet, and he was right. The fourth-place finisher, who wowed viewers with his energetic stage presence and smooth R&B style, recently signed to Epic Records and has released his debut single, "Won't Make a Fool Out of You." </P><P> </P><P>Yet at one time it seemed like we might never have heard his music at all. Before "X Factor" Canty tried but failed to get through the audition rounds for <a href="http://www.mtv.com/news/topic/american_idol/">"American Idol."</a> </P><P> </P><P>"I tried 'American Idol.' I got in front of the judges, I sang my little heart out, but I guess I didn't make it," Canty revealed to MTV News. "I guess they didn't want me." </P><P> </P><P><embed src="http://media.mtvnservices.com/mgid:uma:video:mtv.com:754173/cp~vid%3D754173%26uri%3Dmgid%3Auma%3Avideo%3Amtv.com%3A754173" width="460" height="260" type="application/x-shockwave-flash" allowFullScreen="true" allowScriptAccess="always" base="."></embed> </P><P> </P><P>"Idol" may not have wanted Canty, but "The X Factor" did. With help from his mother, Canty reluctantly decided to step in front of the judges, hoping to get his chance to go to Hollywood. </P><P> </P><P>"The funny thing is that I didn't want to do 'X Factor' at first. I was just like, 'Man, I'm gonna do it myself,' then I look on the bill and I see L.A. Reid, and I'm like, 'Wait a minute, that's L.A. Reid!' " Canty said. "For so long I've been trying to get music to him. When it came that time, my mom was like, 'Look, you should just try it." </P><P> </P><P>With Reid as his mentor, Canty battled his way to a fourth-place finish with some show-stopping performances that gained him comparisons to Al Green and Bobby Brown. </P><P> </P><P>Canty also developed relationships with the other judges on the show, including former mentors <a href="/news/articles/1678191/paula-abdul-exits-x-factor.jhtml">Paula Abdul</a> and <a href="/news/articles/1678186/nicole-scherzinger-steve-jones-leaving-x-factor.jhtml">Nicole Scherzinger</a>. </P><P> </P><P>"I actually was kind of surprised," Canty said of the departures of Abdul and Scherzinger. "I thought it was a lot of drama on the show with Paula and Nicole, but they were so nice." </P><P> </P><P>Canty was no stranger to drama himself. The R&B crooner found himself in the bottom two during several episodes, most notably edging out <a href="/news/articles/1680940/rachel-crow-simon-cowell.jhtml">Rachel Crow</a> in an emotional and <a href="/news/articles/1675936/x-factor-rachel-crow-elimination-reaction.jhtml">controversial finish</a>. </P><P> </P><P>"I feel like Paula was honest. I feel like Nicole was honest — even in certain situations on the show that they got into, with me and Rachel and at one point, me and Drew," Canty said. "If I was in that situation I probably wouldn't know what to do." </P><P> </P><P>With Scherzinger and Abdul out of the judges' seats, rumors have been swirling that pop star <a href="/news/articles/1680782/britney-spears-x-factor-judge-offer.jhtml">Britney Spears may fill</a> one of the vacant spots. </P><P> </P><P>"Oh wow, I haven't heard that one. Britney Spears, wow. That should be interesting," Canty said in response to the news. "Britney Spears can be my mentor because, first of all, I was the entertainer. I know she would give me that pop I need. That's definitely a great fit."</p>

'She can probably do anything she wants,' 'Paparazzi' and 'Telephone' director tells us at SXSW.
By Kara Warner
<P>After the mostly positive reviews of <a href="http://www.mtv.com/music/artist/lady_gaga/artist.jhtml">Lady Gaga</a>'s first music-video directorial effort on <a href="/news/articles/1675270/lady-gaga-marry-the-night-music-video.jhtml">"Marry the Night"</a>. It's fair to assume that we fans can expect more Gaga-directed clips in the near future. </P><P> </P><P>When MTV News caught up with her "Paparazzi" and "Telephone" <a href="/news/articles/1633818/the-man-behind-lady-gagas-telephone-video-jonas-akerlund.jhtml">director Jonas Åkerlund</a> recently during his SXSW appearance for his new ensemble dark comedy "Small Apartments," we asked him for his thoughts on Gaga's future as a director, should she choose to direct all of her videos from here on out. </P><P> </P><P><center><embed src="http://media.mtvnservices.com/mgid:uma:video:mtv.com:748102/cp~id%3D1680857%26vid%3D748102%26uri%3Dmgid%3Auma%3Avideo%3Amtv.com%3A748102" width="460" height="260" type="application/x-shockwave-flash" allowFullScreen="true" allowScriptAccess="always" base="."></embed></center> </P><P> </P><P>"She can probably do anything she wants," he said. "So that's probably going to be great." </P><P> </P><P>And would Åkerlund make himself available for advice, should Gaga ever be in need of it? </P><P> </P><P>"Of course. I would never turn her down," he said, at which point his "Apartments" star and funnyman Matt Lucas ("Bridesmaids") asked a question of his own. </P><P> </P><P>"Is her real name Lady Gaga?" </P><P> </P><P>"Yes," Åkerlund answered with a smile. </P><P> </P><P>"Wow," Lucas responded with astonishment. "There's a fact for you MTV fans." </P><P> </P><P>Although Åkerlund didn't mention any more work with Gaga at this time, the busy director is still fully in the mix of the world of music videos. </P><P> </P><P>"I may do a couple music videos and I've done quite a few since 'Small Apartments,' actually. The last one I did was a Duran Duran video, but there's a few coming up too." </P><P> </P><P>"Are you going to do the Osmonds video?" Lucas asked cheekily. "That's what they're asking." </P><P> </P><P>"Maybe," Åkerlund responded, playing along with Lucas' joke. "I'm hoping to." </P><P> </P><P>For her part, Gaga has said that she's always been heavily involved in the creative processes behind all her work, including the direction of her music videos. </P><P> </P><P>"I know it's my directorial debut, but I've really created everything I've ever done in my career," she said. "I really didn't do anything differently on this video that I didn't do on the 'Telephone' video or the 'Paparazzi' video or the 'Bad Romance' video. I hope my fans will take from this the progression that you have to trust yourself to make mistakes."</p>
