In a typed out message on her blog, Bristol Palin slammed President Barack Obama for announcing his support of gay marriage.
The former "Dancing With the Stars" contestant honed in on the fact that Obama's decision for the announcement was influenced by his teenage daughters writing in part on her blog, ?While it?s great to listen to your kids? ideas, there?s also a time when dads simply need to be dads. In this case, it would?ve been helpful for him to explain to Malia and Sasha that while her friends parents are no doubt lovely people, that?s not a reason to change thousands of years of thinking about marriage.?

Jimek), got a surprise Skype call from Bey herself this week to announce he'd <a href="http://www.beyonceonline.com/us/news/end-time-remix-winner-revealed-beyoncé-skype" target="_blank">won the competition</a> to remix her song, "End of Time."</P><P>The Los Angeles-based, Warsaw, Poland-bred producer's version was selected from nearly 3,000 entries in the four-week competition. According to a press release announcing the selection, Jimek's song was selected after initial voting by fans, DJs and remixers on the SoundCloud community, with an international panel of judges, including Beyoncé, Afrojack, Isabella Summers of Florence and the Machine, Polish DJ duo Wawa, New York DJ Jus Ske and Oscar-winning producer Giorgio Moroder selecting the winner.</P><P>The producer looked stunned when Beyoncé stepped in front of her laptop, exclaiming, "This is not happening!" The "Party" singer assured him that it was. "This is definitely happening ... Thank you for staying awake, I wanted to congratulate you because you're the winner of the 'End of Time' remix competition," she said to Jimek's disbelief, as he took a seat on the floor to settle himself. In the days leading up to the <a href="/news/articles/1676906/beyonce-jay-z-baby-born-ivy-blue.jhtml">birth of her baby, Blue Ivy</a>, Queen B was <a href="/news/articles/1676647/beyonce-pregnant-new-years.jhtml">spotted around New York</a> with her hubby, Jay-Z, and her stilettos. <a href="/news/articles/1683832/beyonce-people-most-beautiful-woman.jhtml"><i>People</i> magazine's Most Beautiful Woman</a> has opened up about wanting to stay as glam as possible, right up until she went into labor.</P><P>"I didn't feel that I looked beautiful during birth — but who does? After being pumped with all those fluids and gaining so much weight, with my swollen lips and cheeks, I barely recognized myself," she said in the issue hitting newsstands Friday, <a href="http://www.pressparty.com/pg/newsdesk/beyonce/view/45626/" target="_blank">Pressparty.com</a> reports. The singer herself was surprised by how quickly she managed to look so good.</P><P>"I'm proud that my waist came back so fast. ... I had to get my tone back. I'm definitely softer," she said. "But I feel my body bouncing back. Whatever was tight and muscular, like my legs, I'm seeing it come back. You just have to work at it."</P><P>Beyoncé will return to the stage next month for several shows in Atlantic City. She's also reportedly working on new music to follow up 2011's <i>4.</i></p>

Bobby Brown has announced that his nuptials to Alicia Etheridge will take place in Hawaii the weekend of June 15.
Bobby, who will be conveniently be in Hawaii that weekend to perform with New Edition, will fly in friends and family to celebrate the event. The pair has been engaged since May 2010 and have one child together--Cassius Brown.

In other Bobby Brown news, he will release his first solo album in 14 years on June 5, 2012, The Masterpeice. Talking about the project, he said,

<P>Perhaps looking for some <i>actual</i> Heavy Metal Lovers, <a href="http://www.mtv.com/music/artist/lady_gaga/artist.jhtml">Lady Gaga</a> has tapped reunited British rockers <a href="http://www.mtv.com/music/artist/darkness/artist.jhtml">the Darkness</a> as the opening act on the first — though we're willing to bet not <i>last</i> — leg of her <i>Born This Way</i> Ball, which kicks off August 14 in Sofia, Bulgaria.</P><P><embed src="http://media.mtvnservices.com/mgid:uma:video:mtv.com:717952/cp~vid%3D717952%26uri%3Dmgid%3Auma%3Avideo%3Amtv.com%3A717952" width="460" height="260" type="application/x-shockwave-flash" allowFullScreen="true" allowScriptAccess="always" base="."></embed></P><P>The Darkness confirmed the news Tuesday morning (April 10) on their official site (which, in a <i>very</i> Darkness move, is called <a href="http://www.theactualdarkness.com/home/" target="_blank">TheActualDarkness.com</a>), writing that they were "honoured [British spelling, extra classy] to announce their addition to the bill as main support for Lady Gaga's <i>Born This Way</i> Ball tour 2012."</P><P>The glammy, hammy rockers — best known for theatrical hits like "I Believe in a Thing Called Love" and "Growing on Me" — <a href="/news/articles/1484374/darkness-believe-thing-called-touring.jhtml">burned bright before imploding in 2006</a>, but announced a reunion (and plans for a new album) just last year. And as a way of kickstarting the next chapter of their career, frontman Justin Hawkins appeared in a well-received Samsung commercial that aired during Super Bowl XLV, in which he starred as a Spandex-clad pied piper who rescued folks from the monotony of everyday life. So, you know, it was basically a documentary.</P><P>It's not clear if the Darkness will serve as the opening act on <i>all</i> of Gaga's Euro dates (a spokesperson for the band did not respond to MTV News' request for comment by press time), but, thanks to the Mother Monster herself, we now know that there <i>are</i> European dates for the much-discussed <i>BTW</i> Ball.</P><P><a href="http://twitpic.com/97zvzf" target="_blank">Gaga unveiled the first 21 shows</a> early Tuesday morning on her Twitter account. Sounding as if her bundle of joy has made his way into the world safe and sound, it's being reported that Alessandra Ambrosio has given birth to a healthy baby boy!
According to numerous sources, the Victoria's Secret beauty and fiance Jamie Mazur are the proud parents of a newborn son - with Alessandra completing her second pregnancy in Florianopolis, Brazil on Monday (May 7).
While Miss Ambrosio's rep has yet to confirm the news, a number of those close to the couple shed light on the baby's arrival via social networking sites, as Alessandra's mother-in-law, Michelle Mazur, wrote on her Facebook page, "Grandson just born in Brazil!"
Meanwhile, the 31-year-old model's oft employer, Love magazine, tweeted a message which read, "Congratulations to Alessandra Ambrosio who had a baby boy today."
Ambrosio and Mazur's son joins a big sister, as the couple is already proud parents of a 3-year-old daughter named Anja Louise.
And now that her little guy has arrived, it sounds as if Alessandra will be quickly delving into baby weight dropping efforts, as she plans to get back to work by this July.
Of her career resuming hopes, the brunette beauty told, "I already have jobs planned for afterwards so hopefully will be back in shape. I told my booker and my manager; 'I know I have a job to do, so just book the jobs and hopefully it?ll be fine.' I only have a few more jobs to do before I have the baby - all editorial, no more catwalk now - and then I hope to be back in London for the opening of the Victoria?s Secret store in July. I should definitely be back for the next Victoria?s Secret show - I have quite a while until then."

'We are really in uncharted territory now with an opening like this,' one box-office expert tells MTV News.

It's safe to say that everyone expected Marvel's "The Avengers" to smash the box office when it opened in U.S. theaters this weekend, but no one could foresee just how many records it would break.
According to Deadline Hollywood, the Joss Whedon-directed film grossed more than $207 million domestically this weekend, blasting away the "Harry Potter and the Deathly Hallows, Part 2" record of $169 million. The film now also holds the #1 spot for highest Saturday gross of all time with a whopping $69.7 million made in a single day.
"We are really in uncharted territory now with an opening like this," Phil Contrino of BoxOffice.com told MTV News.
With "Avengers" exceeding fan and critic expectations, is the film poised to break any other records? Box Office Guru editor Gitesh Pandya predicts some hefty numbers. "It also broke the speed record for hitting $200 million, doing it in a mere three days, beating a trio of past hits that did it in five days," he said. "And I project it will become the fastest film in history to smash the $1 billion global box-office mark, doing it in about 20 days or so. 'Avengers' just might end up becoming the highest-grossing non-James Cameron film ever."
Exhibitor Relations' Jeff Bock agrees, saying, "[It] will likely take down many of 'The Dark Knight' and 'Deathly Hallows, Part 2' [records], including best first-week gross and fastest to $300 million."
But with such huge numbers in the beginning, there's a chance the film could drastically drop in weeks to come. "I don't think it can possibly manage to drop only 55-60 percent like most summer blockbusters, but if it does then it could very well challenge the $533.3 million domestic gross of 'The Dark Knight,' " Contrino said. "I don't think it will catch 'Titanic' or 'Avatar' domestically, but I wouldn't completely rule it out either. It all depends on how much repeat business it gets."
Pandya agrees that "Avengers" will have a sizable drop in its second weekend in theaters. "We won't see 'Titanic' or 'Avatar'-type legs here, but a final domestic gross of more than $450 million seems likely."
Bock is a little more optimistic, putting the overall domestic tally at $500 million. "As reviews have been through the roof, it will definitely benefit from repeat viewings," he said. " 'The Avengers' success is now the model by which all comic book franchises will now be judged. This certainly played out like a sequel, because it was built like one. In fact, this was a super-sequel arriving with the most built-in buzz in the history of modern-day cinema."
Contrino credits the buzz to Disney's incredible campaign to market the film. "They combined traditional marketing — TV spots, trailers — with plenty of outreach on Facebook and Twitter. Marketers will be studying this for years to come."
But marketing departments won't be the only teams studying up on Disney and Marvel's success. Bock believes DC Comics should be taking some notes. "Marvel maneuvered their characters like Bobby Fischer moved chess pieces — always thinking of the next move," he said.
"This was Marvel's master plan from the beginning and it turned into a master class. If DC can eventually get all their universe straightened out, there is no reason a Justice League movie couldn't blow up the box office like Marvel's 'Avengers' did."
Pandya agrees, crediting the success in part to the directors. "Other studios should learn to trust big franchises in the hands of talented directors and to keep fans engaged throughout the process so they feel like they are part of the team," he said. "Give audiences a solid piece of entertainment and they will reward you back with huge bags of cash."
