Shannon Elizabeth Talks 'American Reunion,' New Jewelry Line And More

The entire East Great Falls gang is back for another round of high school hijinks this weekend in "American Reunion," even if some alumni are bound to get more screen time than others. You'll see plenty of Oz, Finch, Stifler, Kev and Jim (perhaps too much Jim), but some of the other characters you've come [...]

Five Reasons To See 'American Reunion'

Let me make a statement that, like a penis penetrating a warm apple pie, is anything but subtle and also kind of surprising: "American Reunion" is the best installment of this raunchy franchise since the 1999 original. Is this something of a backhanded compliment, considering the second film was a letdown, the third was unwatchable, [...]

'Bully' Gets PG-13 Rating After Edits

The Weinstein Co. removed offensive language from the bullying movie to achieve a PG-13 rating.
By Gil Kaufman

Just a week after announcing that it would be released unrated
in a protest to the R rating slapped on it by the ratings board, the Weinstein Co. said on Thursday that an edited version of "Bully" will hit theaters with a PG-13 rating.

The anti-bullying documentary has unleashed a fierce back-and-forth between legendarily pugnacious Weinstein boss Harvey Weinstein and the board, which gave the film the restricted rating on the basis of multiple four-letter words heard in the film.

According to the Associated Press, the edited PG-13 version will be released on April 13 with the blessing of the Motion Picture Association of America. The MPAA originally tagged the film with an R rating and refused to change that ruling after the Weinstein Co. appealed.

Movie producer Weinstein argued that the restricted rating for the film that depicts the often-disastrous results of school bullying would keep out the very audience that most needs to see it. An R restricts kids under the age of 17 from seeing the movie without an accompanying adult and Weinstein said that it would not allow him to screen the film in middle and high schools, where it could potentially have the biggest impact. The Weinstein Co. said three uses of an expletive were removed to earn the PG-13 designation.

Weinstein began a public appeal of the rating last month, tapping famed attorneys David Boies and Ted Olson, who were behind overturning California's Proposition 8 ban on gay marriage.

The rating war inspired 17-year-old Katy Butler to start a viral petition to get the decision changed. Not only did her movement win her a GLAAD Media Award
but it also drew nearly 500,000 signatures and support from the likes of Justin Bieber, Demi Lovato, Johnny Depp and Ellen DeGeneres.

Though unrated films are often shut out of many theater chains out of respect for the ratings board, the CEO of the AMC chain, Gerry Lopez, said last week that he would allow certain theaters in his circuit to screen the movie. "Bully" opened on March 30 in New York and Los Angeles.

The Los Angeles Times reported that director Lee Hirsch said he was satisfied with the resolution. "This was about drawing the line but not being utterly unreasonable," he said.

"What's absolutely relevant is the scene that we retained. There was one [obscenity in another scene] I didn't want to give up. But I didn't want to hold back all the groups that wanted to see the movie, Boy and Girl Scout groups and school groups, that wouldn't be able to go if we stayed unrated."

Hirsch was referring to a pivotal, controversial scene on a school bus in which the f-bomb is used three times against a bullied student. This marks the first time the MPAA has allowed a movie with more than two uses of the f-word to escape an R rating.

The PG-13 version of the movie will open in 115 theaters next weekend.

Kanye West's 'Theraflu' Was Originally For DJ Khaled

Khaled promises another 'Ye collaboration on upcoming Kiss the Ring.

Whenever hip-hop is in need of an unforgettable moment, Kanye West always seems to have the remedy. The Louis Vuitton Don unexpectedly wowed fans Wednesday night when he gave DJ Funkmaster Flex the go-ahead to premiere "Theraflu," his new Hit-Boy-produced single that features both DJ Khaled and DJ Pharris.

Hit-Boy estimates Kanye recorded the single a little more than a week ago, but initially he didn't even intend for Yeezy to be part of the record. "I actually had sent that beat to Khaled, and Khaled gave it to 'Ye," the G.O.O.D. Music producer told MTV News on Thursday (April 5). "It was supposed to be for Khaled's album, and 'Ye was just like, 'This needs to be out now; this is an urgent record.' "

DJ Khaled, who is overwhelmed by the record's response, said it's been an exciting 48 hours, but he promises that there is more in the works. "I was in the studio with 'Ye, and I was like, 'Let's do something for your album, and let's do something for my album,' " Khaled told MTV News over the phone.

The charismatic DJ, who intros "Theraflu," has even higher hopes for the pair's next single. "Just use your best imagination on how I'mma deliver. I'm not playin'," Khaled teased.

He wouldn't say when their next collaboration would drop, but he did reveal that the two already recorded a song that will appear on Khaled's upcoming Kiss the Ring LP. "When we get together, we just make some amazing music," he said.

Lyrically, Kanye delivered a fiery performance on "Theraflu," baiting PETA on the hook with "Someone tell PETA my mink is draggin' on the floor." He also once again addresses his ex-flame Amber Rose, her fiancé Wiz Khalifa and admitted that he fell in love with Kim Kardashian. It's all pretty intriguing, considering Kanye has shied away from the media for almost two years now.

"On my end, I got this thing with 'Ye where I tell him there's no rules and there's no regulations. It's no format, and ain't nobody gonna tell us nothing on what we're gonna do," Khaled said. "That's how I wanted to come across on this record."

What do you think of Kanye West's "Theraflu" single? Tell us in the comments!

Kony 2012 Campaign Catches Eyes Of Justin Bieber, Lady Gaga

Campaign aims to bring African militia leader Joseph Kony to justice for war crimes and for enlisting children as soldiers.
By Gil Kaufman

<P><P>A campaign to stop the nearly 30-year, brutal rule of African militia leader Joseph Kony became a viral sensation this week. <a href="http://kony2012.s3-website-us-east-1.amazonaws.com" target="_blank">"Kony 2012,"</a> started by the group Invisible Children, aims to make Kony's face so famous that authorities will finally be able to arrest him and try him for his crimes. </P><P> </P><P>A 30-minute <a href="http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=Y4MnpzG5Sqc" target="_blank">documentary</a> released on Monday is one of the keys to the campaign, and as of Thursday it had gotten more than 26 million views. The video details the atrocities carried out by Kony and his Lord's Resistance Army. The campaign appears to be working, as at one point on Wednesday, Invisible Children and #stopkony were trending higher on Twitter than Peyton Manning or the new iPad. </P><P> </P><P>Since 1987, human rights officials say Kony has forcefully abducted more than 60,000 children to be soldiers in his army and reportedly raped, mutilated and killed civilians in Uganda, the Democratic Republic of Congo and South Sudan and displaced more than 2 million people. The leader is wanted for committing atrocities by the International Criminal Court and is being hunted down by 100 U.S. Special Forces advisers and local troops in four Central African nations, according to the <a href="http://bit.ly/AyrDyz"><I>Associated Press.</I></a> </P><P> </P><P>Kony 2012 is an effort to capture Kony and disarm the LRA before a reported window of opportunity closes. YBF Celebs Hit The "Think Like A Man" New York Premiere!

The Think Like A Man cast is continuing on their national tour-de-red-carpet-premieres as they rolled into New York last night.  Taraji P. Henson, Gabrielle Union, Keri Hilson, Terrence J & Selita Ebanks, Jennifer Williams and plenty more all came out to celebrate the film.

We've got all the pics inside....

Last night at the in New York City, plenty of celebs made their way to the AMC Empire 25 theater for the NYC red carpet premiere of the much anticipated romantic comedy flick Think Like A Man:

Yes Gabby!  Loving that she's backing away from her typical boring black dress look for this round of premieres.  After rocking a beautiful canary Bill Blass gown at Tuesday night's Atlanta premiere, the co-star switched it up to a deep plunging curve hugging red dress for her big night. She paired the look with simple black sandals and a box clutch.  Very nice.

Co-star Terrence J. hit the carpet with model girlfriend Selita Ebanks, who rocked a pretty peach one-shoulder frock for her man's big night.

And the "106 & Park" host also kicked it with BET's Stephen Hill. Nice ivory suit Mr. Hill!

Co-star Taraji P. Henson rocked a youthful look as she hit the carpet with "X-Factor" contestant Astro.

Im not the biggest fan of this floral pants trend.  And defintely not a fan when it comes off more country than chic.  Likely because T matched the pants to these new pink YSL Tributes we're not loving, along with the ruffle-trim blouse and bow-embellished Valentino purse.  It's just a bit much.  But we love her nonetheless.

Hey Astro!

Keri Hilson, who makes a cameo in the movie and also appears on the soundtrack, flashed her yellow nails on the carpet alongside Terrence J and Stephen Hill.

The singer kept it simple in a black Jean Paul Gaultier pantsuit with a sexy deep plunging neckline.  And accompanying Mawi London accessories. Very nice.

"Basketball Wife" Jennifer Williams hit the carpet in a flirty black lace mini dress and lace-up boots.

"Love & Hip Hop" star Olivia hit the carpet in a striped maxi dress.  Not loving the blazer with it...or the shoes.  She's a gorgeous girl and could have rocked something more flattering.

Co-star Regina Hall looked fresh faced and fab last night for her premiere:

Can't help but laugh when I see this chick.  She's so silly and I LOVE it.

LaLa Anthony, who has a role in the movie, hit the carpet in this salmon partly sheer dress with......the dreaded white shoes!  Cute hair though.

Co-star Romany Malco hit the carpet in a full out pinstripe suit.  Not loving the tie choice.  (He looks HOT in the movie though.)

Co-stars Kevin Hart & Michael Ealy laughed it up on the carpet:

YES.

Damn...haven't seen this YSL belt in a while.  Loves Kevin.

John Legend, who appears on the soundtrack, made an appearance with his lady-in-red, model fiancee Christine Teigen.

Jadakiss made a random appearance.

Producer Will Packer (right) hit the carpet with director Tim Story (left).

Y'all already know Adrienne Bailon made her way to this carpet.  At least she was covered up this time.  She posed with her bestie Julissa Bermudez.

And the author of the novel Act Like A Lady, Think Like A Man, Steve Harvey, had his wife Marjorie on his arm of course.  These two just scream "We just turned in our Deacon Board application."  I mean Marjorie coouldn't rock that sheerness as a first lady. Wwell actually, you never know...

The cast of Think Like A Man will be guests on "The Wendy Williams Show" today.  And Wendy has a small role in the movie as well.

Christina Aguilera Promises 'Amazing' Album In 2012

'Voice' judge opens up about her follow-up to 2010's Bionic.
By Jocelyn Vena

Christina Aguilera

Week after week, Christina Aguilera judges up-and-coming singers on "The Voice." But when will fans get to hear her lay down her own voice on new music?

In an interview with the show's correspondent, Christina Milian, Xtina opened up about her long-delayed next project, the follow-up to 2010's Bionic, which spawned the single "Not Myself Tonight."

"My album, what's going on with that?" she said. "Well, I started [it] whenever I started this show, and then [the show] kind of took off into this big thing. So the show used to be a side project [and it] kind of turned into a bigger time-fulfilling, dedicated project for me."

While Aguilera hasn't released new material of her own in almost two years, she did make chart waves appearing alongside fellow "Voice" judge Adam Levine on the hit Maroon 5 single "Moves Like Jagger." While that track leaned toward '70s-style rock and pop, fans will have to wait until later this year to find out what sounds Aguilera will be channeling on this next album.

And considering her résumé has included straight-ahead pop, dirty pop'n'b, big band-influenced music and even futuristic pop, anything's possible. But she did promise one thing: It's going to be "amazing."

"I've been in the studio, hard at work," she said. "Different producers I'm working with have just excited me so much and have given me amazing tracks and beats and material I've been writing to and [with] writing partners. It's just filled with fun and excitement, and it's gonna come out later this year, and I'm very, very excited to share it with my fans, finally."

What are you hoping to hear on Xtina's next album? Leave your comment below!

"I really didn't do anything differently on this video that I didn't do on the 'Telephone' video or the 'Paparazzi' video or the 'Bad Romance' video. I hope my fans will take from this the progression that you have to trust yourself to make mistakes."</p>

Soap Dish: Robin?s Death On General Hospital

It is Soap Dish time again my friends and this week I am dishing all about the ?death? of Dr. Robin Scorpio-Drake on General Hospital, as well as the twist I knew was coming. Oh yes there is oh so much to dish about on this topic so lets get to it. The past few weeks of General Hospital have been jam-packed full of some, intense, drama filled and heartbreaking stories and that includes the death of Robin. It was not a very well kept secret that the doc was going to die, her portrayer Kimberly McCullough announced she was leaving the show that she literally grew up on. That being said the fallout of Robin?s death has been amazing. Everyone from Jason Thompson, to Finola Hughes to Maurice Benard were heartbreaking and made me cry every day. However it has also brought some great scenes Patrick and Sonny at the funeral, Patrick and Noah awesome. Oh and let me no forget the scenes between Tony Geary and Tristen Rogers, which reminded me of all the stuff those two characters have been through. Scarlett Johansson Talks Fashion with Flare May 2012

With her new movie "The Avengers" set to hit theaters on May 4th, Scarlett Johansson amped up promotions by landing the cover of the May 2012 issue of Flare magazine.

The 27-year-old actress looked elegant for the Alexi Lubomirski shot front page while opening up about topics such as her new D&G campaign and red carpet style choices.

Highlights from Miss Johansson's interview are as follows. For more, be sure to pay a visit to Flare!

On working with Terry Richardson for her latest Dolce & Gabbana campaign:
"In the past those images were incredibly glamorous and had a movie star feeling to them and I think this campaign will be more intimate and natural, more like myself as opposed to a glamorous character that the boys had in mind. That kind of Anna Magnani sort of character. It?s more modern, less golden age of Hollywood."

On her personal off-duty style:
"I don?t really wear a lot of colourful things. I wear a lot of grey and black. I love grey and navy."

On dressing for the red carpet:
"I think it?s nice on the red carpet to wear things that are colourful just because I think there are more options. You can take more of a risk I suppose with colour on the red carpet."

On her red carpet style for The Avengers:
"I?m the only girl in the film so I?m obviously going to be more aware that I?m surrounded by a bunch of suits. Everybody is going to be wearing black and grey and it will be nice to add femininity and some female sex appeal to the lineup. I think I?ll steer clear of the tuxedo."

On experimenting with design:
"I like to design things. I think it?s fun and I love clothing, but I don?t think design is my total forte. It?s something that requires a lot of time. If I ever did anything like that I would want to be behind it one hundred percent and I don?t have the time for it. My brain is not in fashion in that way."

On designer collaborations:
"I?ve been very fortunate that I?ve worked with designers that are also good friends of mine. For different events, whether it?s for the Oscars or the Met ball, I?ve worked with Dolce & Gabbana to design stuff as well as my friends Roland Mouret and Stella McCartney."

'Anchorman 2': What Should Ron Burgundy Do Next?

"Anchorman 2" is officially on the way, and the MTV Movies team is officially way too pumped for the long awaited sequel. We've already run down the cameos we want to see and the long road Ron Burgundy traveled on his way back to the big screen, but our obsession is far from over: until [...]

'Hunger Games' Postmortem: Five Lessons For 'Catching Fire'

In this week's Hobnobbing, we take a look at how Gary Ross' sequel can build upon the success of the first.

To no one's surprise, the highly anticipated "Hunger Games" opened last week to boffo box-office numbers, all but guaranteeing the second installment in Suzanne Collins' series, "Catching Fire," will set theaters ablaze come November 22, 2013.

Director Gary Ross, who will also helm the follow-up, has already begun formulating his vision for the 75th annual Hunger Games, telling MTV News, "I have some ideas about how to do 'Catching Fire' slightly differently, but I don't want to share them yet. Not because I'm being evasive, but just because they're not fully baked. But yes, I think it will look and feel slightly different from the first."

With its jungle-like setting, the next arena will be a much different beast than the forested first, so it's no wonder Ross is re-jiggering his approach. We can only speculate that some of his sequel planning will include reviewing "The Hunger Games" in great detail — what worked and what didn't. To that end, we've compiled a list of five "Hunger Games" lessons that can and should inform "Catching Fire."

DO keep the arena underwraps
This one isn't so much for Ross as it is for the Gamemakers at Lionsgate, but we have to recognize the studio's smart decision to use only pre-Games footage in their aggressive marketing campaign for the film. In fact, I'd go so far as to say my favorite parts of the movie were from the arena, largely because they were fresh and unexpected. With the Quarter Quell's intriguing new venue, Lionsgate would be wise to build anticipation by keeping the tropical death trap shrouded in mystery.

DON'T skimp on the CGI
If there was a consistent complaint I heard from "Hunger Games" fans following the film's release, it was that the Girl on Fire scene — in which Katniss and Peeta introduce themselves to the Capitol, riding atop a chariot and flaunting flame-licked jumpsuits representative of their coal-mining home — was ... underwhelming. The flame effect just didn't look real enough. With a slew of new sci-fi aspects introduced in "Catching Fire," including mutated monkeys, we hope Ross can invest a bit more in the film's digital technology.

DO capitalize on Stanley Tucci
Say what you will about Jennifer Lawrence's gripping, gritty performance as Katniss Everdeen, but if anyone could be categorized as the film's scene-stealer, it was most certainly Stanley Tucci, whose blue-haired, big-teethed Caesar Flickerman was nothing short of mesmerizing (and a handy exposition device to boot!). Heck, I'd pay to watch a Caesar Flickerman spin-off once all three (four?) "Hunger Games" films debut. "Caesar Flickerman: Not So Blue." Think about it, Lionsgate.

DON'T downplay the dangers of the arena
Between her 23 fellow tributes, tracker jackers and muttations, Katniss had plenty to contend with in the arena. But, as my roommate so astutely pointed out to me long after I watched the film and didn't notice, we never really see Katniss hungry or thirsty. Limiting the violence for a PG-13 rating is an understandable edit, but why dull down the deadliness of the Games otherwise? In "Catching Fire," we need to see Katniss and her fellow tributes truly struggle, not simply limp along.

DO make artful additions (especially if they're directed by Steven Soderbergh)
By shifting the viewpoint of the film from Katniss' first-person perspective, Ross was able to open up the world of Panem in a way we hadn't experienced before. The addition of the control room, Seneca Crane's implied death by berries and, most notably, the District 11 riot only added to the film.

What do you think "Catching Fire" can learn from "The Hunger Games"? Sound off in the comments below and tweet me @amymwilk with your thoughts and suggestions for future columns!
