With her smartphone in her hand, 9-year-old actress Quvenzhané Wallis stole the hearts of viewers as she accepted her Critic's Choice Award for Best Young Actor/Actress last night. She told the crowd,
'First I would like to thank God for all my blessings. I would also like to thank the film critic's for this award.' Thanks to Mr. Benh Zeitlin and the Court 13 family for thinking I could make a good Hushpuppy. Lastly, to my family, friends and fans—good night!',

Taylor Swift Tops Billboard 2012 Top Money Makers
Lady Gaga, Adele and Lil Wayne make top 10.
By Gil Kaufman

Lady Gaga, Katy Perry and Adele had huge years in 2011, with major tours, strings of hit singles, Grammy wins and #1-hogging chart-topping albums. But when Billboard magazine compiled its 2012 list of "Music's Top 40 Money Makers" it was Taylor Swift who ruled them all. In fact, the 22-year-old country-pop darling out-earned all of her fellow ladies combined.

According to the magazine's calculations, Swift earned her #1 spot on the list thanks to reported earnings of $35.7 million in the 2011 calendar year. Those earnings came from a combination of revenue from the quadruple-platinum-plus sales of Speak Now and its accompanying tour, which grossed $88.5 million in the U.S. alone.

But because Swift writes her own songs, she rolled up a big chunk of change in songwriting royalties as well.

Right behind Swift was iconic rock band U2, who earned a reported $32.1 million thanks to their record-setting 360 Tour -- which grossed a whopping $736 million total over two years -- including $50 million in merchandise sales and 1.4 million in digital track sales.

Country singer Kenny Chesney was #3 with $29.8 million, followed by previous tally topper Gaga at #4 with $25.3 million. She stayed in the top 5 thanks to sales of Born This Way and its accompanying Monster Ball Tour, which grossed more than $51 million. She also moved 12.7 million digital tracks. Lil Wayne rounded out the top 5 with $23.1 million, made up of 12.3 million digital track sales, $44.7 million in tour grosses and cash from his gig as founder of Young Money Entertainment.

The rest of the top 10: Sade (#6, $16.3 million), Bon Jovi (#7, $15.8 million), Celine Dion (#8, $14.2 million) and Jason Aldean (#9, $13.4 million). Adele rounded out the top 10 list at #10 with $13 million, mostly from the unstoppable streak of her 21 album's chart run,
which included sales of 6.7 million copies last year alone.

The "Glee" cast were just outside the top 10 at #11 ($12.5 million), Katy Perry hit #14 ($11.9 million), Britney Spears was at #16 ($10 million) and like her sisters in pop, Rihanna made it to #22 ($7.6 million) through a combination of album and single sales and touring revenue.

Other notable entries: Enrique Iglesias (#23, $7.4 million), Usher (#30, $6.2 million), Foo Fighters (#31, $6 million), Justin Bieber (#35, $5.5 million), Kanye West (#39, $5.3 million) and Linkin Park (#40, $5.1 million).

Billboard calculated the figures based on proprietary data from its Boxscore archives for concert grosses, Nielsen SoundScan for sales of physical and digital albums, singles and ringtone sales, and Nielsen BDS for terrestrial radio play and streaming service information.

EVENT PICS: Celebs Gear Up For "Real Husbands Of Hollywood" & "Second Generation Wayans" Premieres
As BET sets up to debut two of its newest scripted series, "Real Husbands of Hollywood" and "Second Generation Wayans," the celebs were out for the Hollywood premiere event last night. Peep pics of Kevin Hart, Tatyana Ali, Duane Martin & Tisha Campbell and plenty more inside...
Kevin Hart is off to a huge start in 2013. The comedian's new (semi) scripted BET show "Real Husbands of Hollywood" kicks off January 15. And he was front and center with his cast members and BET fam for the premiere event at Regal Cinemas L.A. Live
"Happy Endings" star Damon Wayans Jr., "Second Generation Wayans" star Damien Dante Wayans, their dad/uncle Keenen Ivory Wayans and Chris Spencer all posed it up with the writer/star of the series.
Kevin had his girlfriend Eniko on his arm looking fab.
Co-star Duane Martin made out with his wife, Tisha Campbell Martin, on the carpet. Trying to prove there's no problem on their homefront like rumors have been saying?
Co-star Boris Kodjoe was on the carpet to support the project. And Robin Thicke and JB Smoove will also star on the show that Kevin calls "The fakest reality show ever." Hilarity will ensue...
Also celebrating their upcoming premiere was the cast of "Second Generation Wayans." Celeste Sullivan, George O. Gore, Damien Dante Wayans and Craig Wayans all posed it up with the fabulous Tatyana Ali.
She's looking fresh faced and gorgeous these days.
Love seeing one of Hollywood's funniest fams still in the mix.
LA Clippers baller Chris Paul was there to support the shows, with his wife Jada. Are we feeling her cheetah shortset and red pumps?
Celeb trainer Jeanette Jenkins made an appearance.
And so did "Basketball Wives: LA" star Jackie Christie. Not loving these shoes though girl....

Soao Dish: AMC & OTL Coming Back?
Happy New Year friends it is Soap Dish time again and this week I am dishing about the one thing that is on every soap fan’s mind, the news that All My Children and One Life To Live are going to live on. The past couple of weeks the media world has been a buzzing with the news that Prospect Park is bringing back AMC and OTL. As you may or may not know the company bought the rights to both shows from ABC not long after the network cancelled them. However there were some serious snags and it seemed that both soaps would stay dead. Thankfully it is looking like that is not the case at all, woohoo! Although there are not really any specifics about the intentions of Prospect Park but what is known at the time is deals have been reached with WGA as well as SAG and AFTRA. Plus Agnes Nixon, the woman behind the creation of AMC and OLTL, has confirmed that both shows are going to relaunched online. Oh yes there is no more speculation which is freaking awesome. Most recently some major players from AMC have inked deals to join the new revamped [...]

Beyonce's Baby, Britney's Betrothal And More: 2012 Predictions
We forecast the year that will be for your favorite stars, in Bigger Than the Sound.
By James Montgomery

Welcome to 2012, the year that will either bring us the end of civilization as we know it or perhaps flying cars (finally!) Of course, between those two events, there's also going to be a presidential election, the London Olympics and that last "Twilight" movie (finally x 100!), not to mention a whole lot of activity within the lives of your favorite stars, too: Babies, weddings, honorary doctorates in nanotechnology; this is the year it'll all happen.

Which is why, with the new year upon us, I've decided to get my Kreskin on with these predictions for 2012. Don't ask me to gaze deep into my crystal ball and try to foresee who'll win the White House or the World Series, because, seriously, if I knew that, don't you think I'd be wagering right now? Instead, I'm tackling the important topics. Here's my 2012 forecast for the Beyoncés and Britneys of the world ... partly cloudy, with a zero-percent chance of accuracy.

» Beyoncé and Jay-Z will welcome a daughter, who, upon her, uh, release, will also release her debut single, "Run the World (Me)."

» Adele will win every single Grammy, including a stunning upset of Eres Un Farsante in the Best Regional Mexican Or Tejano Album category.

» Britney Spears and Jason Trawick will tie the knot in an elaborate, multi-denominational ceremony held — eh, I don't even care enough to finish this one.

» Katy Perry, having finally run out of singles to release off Teenage Dream, will spend the entirety of 2012 shooting videos for objects around her house. Her hits will include "Toaster," "KitchenAid Tilt-Head Stand Mixer" and "This Towel Set Someone Gave Russell and I for Our Wedding That We Keep in the Guest Bathroom."

» Dr. Dre will indefinitely scrap Detox and instead drop a more age-appropriate album called The Chronic Arthritis.

» Lady Gaga will wear a crazy hat or something.

» Rihanna will release six albums in 2012, each more raunchy than the last. Titles include Speculum, [Censored] [Censored] On My [Censored], and Songs About F---ing, which, oddly, will be a note-for-note remake of Big Black's Songs About F---ing.

» Dave Grohl is sure to do something awesome.

» Drake's sweater game will become so advanced that he will surpass Bill Cosby as the world's foremost expert on multi-hued knitwear. Surprisingly, it will become the most-viewed music video in the history of everything.

» Lil Wayne will come full circle, get a tattoo of his face on his face.

» Guns N' Roses will reunite at the Rock and Roll Hall of Fame induction ceremony in April, only with that dude who plays a guitar shaped like a foot filling in for Slash and Tommy Stinson replacing Duff on bass. Beyonce And Jay-Z's Blue Ivy Trademark: An Expert Explains
Couple likely 'trying to protect what they rightfully own or created,' family law expert tells MTV News.
By John Mitchell

Beyoncé and Jay-Z have filed an application with the U.S. Patent and Trademark Office to protect their month-old baby's name and reserve it for future use, MTV News has confirmed. The superstar couple reportedly sought the trademark to stop the use of Blue Ivy's name by others.

It's a smart move, according to family law attorney and author Vikki Ziegler. "[Seeking the trademark] forestalls competitors from using the child's name and or third parties from attempting to sell the baby's name back to the couple," Ziegler told MTV News. "They are likely trying to protect what they rightfully own or created, shall we say, by trademarking Blue Ivy's name."

The application to trademark Blue Ivy Carter's name, filed by BGK Trademark Holdings (Beyoncé's company) is currently pending but will likely be approved because, as the Washington Post reports, parents are legally authorized to trademark the names of their minor children.

"In essence, it's a trademark for a brand, and this brand is expected to be one hot commodity — just look at Blue Ivy's parents," Ziegler said. "Anyone else that tried to use the name after the trademark was approved could be sued and held liable for damages."

While the Patent Office looks fondly on attempts to trademark the name of one's own child, attempts to do the same with the names of other people's kids are another story, as two designers learned when they sought — just days after Blue Ivy's birth — to trademark the baby's name for their own use.

Applications from fashion designer Joseph Mbeh to patent "Blue Ivy Carter NYC" and by an unnamed designer to trademark "Blue Ivy Carter Glory IV" for a fragrance line were denied by the Patent Office, which noted in its decision that the name belonged to a "very famous infant" and consumers would wrongly assume that any products bearing the name had been approved by Beyoncé and Jay-Z.

Ziegler noted that the trademark would "protect against others using the child's name as a brand of merchandise in the same marketplace," so it will not impact the "Blue Ivy" trademark held by a clothing boutique in Sturgeon Bay, Wisconsin. The store filed to trademark its name on January 19, 2011, a year before Queen B and Jay made the name famous. They received approval on August 23 — five days before Beyoncé announced her pregnancy at the MTV Video Music Awards.

What do you think about Beyoncé and Jay-Z trademarking Blue Ivy's name? Let us know in the comments!

Ryan Gosling?s Mom: Borrowing Clothes from Eva Mendes!
One of the perks of having a famous movie star for a son is getting to go to big film premieres, and Ryan Gosling's mom Donna Gosling even scored some designer duds from his girlfriend Eva Mendes for the screening of ?Gangster Squad? last night (January 7) in Hollywood.
During his interview on the red carpet, the ?Lars and the Real Girl? stud declared, ?My mother?s wearing all my girlfriend?s clothes.?
And Donna was tickled to be donning Mendes?s duds- ?I?m wearing Eva Mendes. She let me raid her closet!?
Of the celebrity couple, an insider told press, "Donna and Eva get along really, really well. Donna wants Ryan to settle down and Eva is all about getting him on that train too, so they're both on the same page."
