Lamar Odom isn't the only NBA baller with high-profile drug issues. Today, J.R. Smith, the heavily-tattooed shooting guard for the NY Knicks, was hit with a 5-game suspension for violating the NBA's anti-drug policy. Though the league did not detail the nature of the "drug" use, Yahoo! Sports reported that J.R. tested positive for marijuana.
We're not defending him for breaking the rules, but it should be noted that J.R. had patellar tendon surgery and an arthroscopy for a tear to the lateral meniscus of his left knee in July. That sounds like it might hurt. Maybe the Tylenol the doctors prescribed him wasn't strong enough and he needed a little extra feel good? Just giving this dude the benefit of the doubt....
As it stands now, J.R.-- who K.Michelle allegedly wrote her hoodtastic revenge track "The Right One" about -- was ALREADY expected to miss 12 to 16 weeks because of his injury, and his 5-game suspension will start once he's cleared to play again.
Ron Klempner, the acting executive director of the National Basketball Players Association, said
"There is a collectively-bargained process in place, established by the NBA and the Players Association, and until that process has played itself out, it would be inappropriate for the NBA or J.R. to make further statements about the matter. We all look forward to a resolution in due course."
During the offseason, J.R. signed a signed a three-year contract extension with the team worth $17 million.

Chad Ochocinco has a new "paying" gig! The last we heard, Chad lost his job as a Miami Dolphins player after he head-butted his ex-wife Evelyn Lozada. But now, things are looking up for the former baller.

Film producer Tyler Perry gave an impromptu speech about "giving" and the anointing of GOD during Bishop T.D. Jake's Mega Fest in Dallas, TX this weekend. The clip, which has gone viral, begins with Tyler speaking about the voice of GOD moving in him and directing him to donate $1 million dollars to The Potter's House.
"My intention was to just leave the check and bless God. See, I love to give. I've been a giver all my life. You see, when people have given to you and sown into you and God has touched them and given you favor. When you have favor with..."
While speaking about his donation, Tyler began to pray in tongues and walked towards Bishop Jakes. He then layed hands on him as the men of the church gathered around him. Yeah, that happened....
Comments about the viral clip have ranged from positive to skeptical. We guess it depends on where you are in your life and your relationship with King Jesus. We'll reserve comment.

And on television....
Sheryl Underwood is in hot water with Black America over comments she made about black hair. During Friday's episode of "The Talk" (which actually was to be a rerun), Sheryl responded to a story about model Heidi Klum's practice of saving her biracial children's hair after a haircut. Sheryl said,
“OK, I'm sorry but why would you save Afro hair. You can't weave in Afro hair, you'll never see us at the hair place going 'look here, what I need is this nappy, curly, beady hair.' That just seems nasty."
Well...........the folks on Black Twitter have uninvited Sheryl from ALL future bar-b-ques, family reunions, Bayou Classics, Essence Fests, and Beyonce's remaining concert dates. She's not welcome. And honestly, the comment reeked of self hate, regardless of the "comedy" in it.
As you can guess, Sheryl's Twitter timeline is now full of nasty tweets about her skin tone, weight and wigs. It ain't pretty.
In response to the backlash, Sheryl talked to the natural hair blog Curly Nikki where she explained her comments and how she meant for the "joke" to be perceived.
She said,
"The discussion was about cutting and saving hair. I didn’t speak about Heidi Klum or her children’s hair. I stated that the act of saving hair was ‘nasty’. Cutting and saving what I consider as dead… it’s like saving fingernails. People are accusing me of calling natural hair ‘nasty’. I did not say that.
That was a bad choice of words. A bad juxtaposition of words to imply that our hair is not good. I made a mistake. I will own up to that mistake. I’m going to talk to God and change the way I articulate things and be more cognizant. I’m not perfect and I bet if you put a camera on someone all day, they’d eventually say something they’d regret too. I am asking you to forgive me for the statement I made, which to me, is a power only God has, really."
But you did say nobody wants nappy, curly, beady hair, so....

CONFIRMED! Beyonce Shot New Video For Upcoming Single "XO" At Coney Island
Yesterday, we all saw the pics of Beyonce and her crew having some wild times riding high at Coney Island. We suspected she was filming something. But now, we can confirm it was indeed a new video for her brand new upcoming single called "XO"....
Superstar Beyonce was spotted at Luna Park in Coney Island riding the iconic 86-year-old Cyclone Rollercoaster while filming the music video for her newest song “XO," a rep for Coney Island confirms to TheYBF.com.
Bey showed her love for BK by rocking a Notorious B.I.G. hat as she was screaming it up on the ride with her crew.
She's even got model Jourdan Dunn and her stylist Ty Hunter in on the adventurous vid.
We've also been told by another source that Mrs. Carter has finally wrapped her new album and it already has a name. We're sure that will leak soon.

For Interview Magazine's September 2013 fall fashion issue, supermodel Naomi Campbell posed for one of seven covers featuring some of the most legendary faces of modeling (Kate Moss, Linda Evangelista, Christy Turlington, Amber Valletta, Stephanie Seymour and Daria Werbowy).
The pics where shot by fashion team Mert Alas and Marcus Piggott, and show each model both clothed and nude in raw black-and-white images. And of course, Naomi slays!
Inside the issue, 43-year-old Naomi reflects on her career (which has spanned nearly 3 decades). Here are a few highlights:
INTERVIEW: Does the fashion world still feel like a family to you?
CAMPBELL: Yes. I love the relationship that I have with Azzedine, with Donatella, with Stefano [Gabbana] and Domenico [Dolce], with Marc Jacobs, with Anna Sui. When I started out modeling, there weren't casting directors and there weren't stylists, so you just dealt directly with the designer. We were all much closer back then—we had direct communication with each other, and we all hung out when we weren't working. Obviously, now that's changed, but I believe I've kept it that way.
INTERVIEW: You advise young models on your reality show The Face. Does it feel like you are talking to young women in an entirely different business than the one you started out in?
CAMPBELL: Yes, I do feel that I'm talking to someone who's in a totally different place from where I was when I started modeling. I was fortunate enough to have the wonderful designers and amazing photographers around me, and editors that I knew, and if I wanted to ask a question, I asked them. So that gap has broadened a bit.
INTERVIEW: You always seemed so confident, even early on. Is that an innate quality or something you had to assume to do the job?
CAMPBELL: They always say, "Fake it till you make it." [laughs] No, I'm determined, and I'm passionate and driven about whatever I commit myself to do. If I don't know something, I'm going to ask, and I've got no problems in asking questions. I never have. People ask me, "Are you nervous when you go on the runway? You don't look it." Yes, I am.

Naomi's confidence was on full display over the weekend when she partied at the SAME club at her ex-boyfriend Vladimir Doronin in Ibiza. According to Page Six, the exes were both at club Ushuaia on Sunday night and you could FEEL the tension.
Na Na was celebrating her Interview cover with fashion photographers Mert Alas and Marcus Piggott, Maxwell, Riccardo Tisci, Paris Hilton and her OTHER ex-boyfriend Adrien Brody.
A spy told Page Six: “The atmosphere was icy. They didn’t speak even though they were at a table right next to one another.”
Though she ignored Vlad (who slept with one of her former "The Face" contestants AND another chick who is a Naomi-clone), she did speak to her godchildren, who were seated with him.
What's next for the globetrotting diva? She's due back in New York next month to shoot the second season of her hit Oxygen TV model reality competition show, “The Face.”

Following his hot performance at the VMAs, he stopped by Sway's Shade 45 show where he dished on Kanye's disdain for "Suit & Tie", what he thought about Miley Cyrus's twerking and what we can expect from the next installment of The 20/20 Experience.
On Kanye West's critique of "Suit & Tie":
“At the end of the day, it’s just music. I love Suit and Tie, it reminds me of the music I grew up listening to. I respect his opinion because I think he’s a genius… but I don’t share that opinion. It’s just not a big deal deal… to do it at SNL too… it’s not that big a deal. I don’t know that he fully understands what I can do, and that’s ok… as a matter of fact, Jay said the same thing."
On what fans can expect from The 20/20 Experience Part II (featuring Jay Z and Drake):
“The first half was the freshman love, so you wanna go to her house and impress her parents. Then you realize she has an older sister, that’s a senior, dark hair and tattoos and she’ll give you that look, ‘I’ll turn you out.’ That’s the second half. Sonically, it sounds darker.”
On why he co-signs Miley's performance:
“She’s doing what 20 year old girls do. The difference is she’s got a microphone, she’s on stage at the VMAs… Take it easy on her, she’s 20 years old, she’s a young adult and she can do that.

On recording "Cabaret" (a stripper's anthem) with Drake:
Drake and I have been trying to get at each other about doing a record, and I think we'll probably do more as time goes on as well. He killed it."

On touring with Jay Z:
Going on tour this summer with Jay was incredible. For him to give me creative license to put the show together, meant a lot. It's the best show I've ever been a part of.
(He also explained that Jay Z was the original pick for the feature on "My Love" but because Jay had already done Beyonce's "Deja Vu", he didn't want to be over exposed).
On working with Timbaland and Pharrell and staying relevant:
I think it's working with the same people and the consistency. That's what I have with Tim and Pharrell. I've always kept the same folks around me. I think consistency in your acutal process....just with the people you keep around you.
On missing the child star curse:
I guess my folks. My mother really. Growing up in the south, you're taught that you're just as much like the guy next door to you as an individual. You get a sense of community. When I was 10-years-old, my mother said to me, 'You have a really special gift. But that doesn't make you special in other areas of life. You still have to work at being a good person. Your gift comes with an actual curse. You have to offset that with normalcy.' I was 10 years old when I got my first job. That's not normal. So...anybody's gonna get messed up in the head having that. I got lucky cause I have great parents.

The affair will be captured for a future episode of "Oprah's Next Chapter" on her OWN network. </P><P> </P><P>"My mother and I have initiated a passion project. We call it the <a href="/news/articles/1673633/lady-gaga-born-this-way-foundation.jhtml">Born This Way Foundation</a>," Gaga said in a statement last November about the foundation, which takes its name from her hit single and album. Britney Spears' Big 2011: From A Smash Album To A Ring On Her Finger
A decade into her career, the pop megastar reinvented herself this year as the ultimate Femme Fatale and made a big commitment to Jason Trawick.

<P>Maybe <a href="http://www.mtv.com/music/artist/spears_britney/artist.jhtml">Britney Spears</a>' lucky number is 30. The singer turned 30 this year, marking the landmark birthday on December 2 with a fan-voted MTV News tournament that crowned <a href="/news/articles/1675289/britney-spears-tournament-winner-30th-birthday.jhtml">the Best Britney Video of All Time</a>. More than a decade into her career, Spears re-emerged as a <a href="/news/articles/1675474/britney-spears-femme-fatale-favorite-album.jhtml"><i>Femme Fatale,</i></a> giving fans a fist-pumping album, embarking on a flashy tour and dropping more memorable music videos. Britney Spears fandom was reenergized as the singer came out of her shell, opening up about this phase in her career as well her personal life in several high-profile interviews. So it's probably not surprising that Spears will cap off the year at #4 on MTV News' <a href="/news/articles/1676177/newsmakers-2011-lady-gaga-amy-winehouse.jhtml">Top Newsmakers of 2011</a> list, just behind Lil Wayne. </P><P> </P><P>"When I was younger, I was busy, busy, and I was always singing and dancing all the time. I was just really creative," she recalled in the <a href="http://www.mtv.com/videos/news/638813/britney-hits-the-studio-with-william.jhtml#id=166112">MTV special "I Am the Femme Fatale."</a> "That's when my mom realized I'm a really creative person." </P><P> </P><P>She let that creativity shine over the past 12 months. From <a href="http://www.mtv.com/videos/britney-spears/624145/hold-it-against-me.jhtml#artist=501686">"Hold It Against Me"</a> to <a href="http://www.mtv.com/videos/britney-spears/639722/till-the-world-ends.jhtml#artist=501686">"Till the World Ends"</a> to her Chris Marrs Piliero-directed "I Wanna Go" and "Criminal," Britney made headlines every time she dropped a music video. But no vid stirred up as much controversy as her <a href="/news/articles/1672795/britney-spears-criminal-video-director.jhtml">"Criminal" clip</a>, which featured real-life boyfriend <a href="/news/articles/1676120/britney-spears-is-engaged.jhtml">(now fiancé) Jason Trawick</a> — and his abs. </P><P> </P><P>"At the end of the day, Jason killed it," Piliero told MTV News of Trawick's cameo. "That was one of those things I was really stoked [about], as much as I went into it like, 'Wow, he's not an actor. This is going to be interesting,' but I really do like a challenge, and I really do like the idea that I'm a director and my job is to direct and get the performance. For me, it was a fun challenge to be like, 'I'm gonna make sure that you are awesome,' and he was." </P><P> </P><P>Between video shoots, Spears hit the road with <a href="/news/articles/1668836/nicki-minaj-britney-spears-tour.jhtml">the likes of Nicki Minaj</a>, Joe Jonas, and DJ Pauly D. Spears fully embraced her sensuality on the <i>Femme Fatale</i> Tour, a spectacular show full of costume changes, elaborate stage setups and stunning mini-films. </P><P> </P><P></p><div class="player-placeholder right" title="Britney Hits The Studio With will.i.am" id="vid:638813.id:1661123" width="240" height="211"></div><p> </P><P> </P><P>And while much of the 2011 VMA buzz was about <a href="/news/articles/1669849/beyonce-pregnant-vmas.jhtml">Beyoncé's baby bump</a> and <a href="/news/articles/1669843/lady-gaga-you-and-i-video-music-awards-performance.jhtml">Jo Calderone</a>, Spears stole the spotlight by walking away with a Moonman for Best Pop Video and the prized <a href="/news/articles/1669873/britney-spears-vma-tribute.jhtml">Video Vanguard Award</a>. She also had tongues wagging after an onstage kiss from Jo (a.k.a. Lady Gaga), just before she was honored with an electrifying dance tribute that highlighted some of biggest career moments. </P><P> </P><P>"It was really crazy. I had no idea what to expect," Spears told us backstage at the VMAs. "The kids were amazing and so entertaining, and it was a really fun night. It was really cool. I was like, 'Wow, that's really sweet!' " </P><P> </P><P>As 2011 came to a close, Spears wrapped up her tour, and MTV News threw her a birthday bash in the form of the <a href="http://www.mtv.com/content/news/2011/britney30/index.jhtml">"30 Videos for 30 Years"</a> tournament. The competition was heated but in the end, Spears' iconic "I'm a Slave 4 U" took home the prize. And just when it seemed things couldn't get any better, <a href="/news/articles/1676167/britney-spears-jason-trawick-engaged-timeline.jhtml">Britney confirmed she was engaged</a> to Trawick after dating for two years.
