Joan Rivers Tributes from Late Night Talk Show Hosts (Video)
Hours after the death of the comedic legend Joan Rivers, the late night talk show hosts paid tribute. Jimmy Fallon of ‘The Tonight Show,’ David Letterman of ‘The Late Show’ were among the many who shared their memories and spoke of the legacy of the trailblazing comic who also numbered among them at one time, as a late-night host. The news of Joan Rivers’ death broke early enough that Thursday, September 4th that the hosts had time to offer their tributes. In her written statement, Melissa Rivers the daughter of Joan Rivers had said in part, “My mother?s greatest joy in life was to make people laugh. Although that is difficult to do right now, I know her final wish would be that we return to laughing soon.” While that was a daunting task less daunting was offering recollections and kind words about what will be an enduring legacy of a bold, unique and courageous comedy icon.
